Oedema, Hypertension, Chronic heart failure
May be taken with or without food.
Oral Hypertension Adult: 2.5-5 mg once daily. Max: 5 mg daily. Oedema in patients with hepatic cirrhosis Adult: Initially, 5-10 mg once daily, given together with an aldosterone antagonist or a potassium-sparing diuretic, titrated upwards until the desired diuretic response is obtained. Max: 40 mg daily. Oedema Adult: 5 mg once daily, increased to 20 mg once daily if necessary. Max: 40 mg/day.
Hypersensitivity to sulfonylureas, renal failure with anuria, hepatic coma and pre-coma, hypotension, cardiac arrhythmias. Pregnancy and lactation.
Torasemide, a sulfonylurea loop diuretic, acts from within the lumen of the thick ascending portion of the loop of Henle, where it inhibits the Na+/K+/2CI--carrier system.
Risk of hyperuricaemia, gout and DM. Correct electrolyte distubances and disorders of micturition before treatment. Monitor electrolyte balance, glucose, uric acid, creatinine and lipids regularly. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. __NAME__ may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
__NAME__ is a diuretic. It removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing the amount of urine produced.
If you miss a dose of __NAME__, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with __NAME__. Please consult your doctor.
__NAME__ is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
__NAME__ is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
__NAME__ may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
__NAME__ is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of __NAME__ is recommended. However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease as the use of __NAME__ should be avoided in case you are unable to pass urine or the kidney damage is due to some medicines.
__NAME__ should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of __NAME__ may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
