Postoperative ocular inflammation, Ocular pain
Ophthalmic Postoperative ocular inflammation Adult: As 0.07% or 0.09% soln: Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) once daily, starting 1 day before, and continuing until 14 days after cataract surgery. Alternatively (as 0.09% soln), 1 drop bid, beginning 24 hr after cataract surgery and continuing through the 1st 14 days of post-op period.
Bromfenac ophthalmic solution is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any ingredients of the formulation.
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent; inhibits COX-1 and COX-2, which results in decreased formation of prostaglandin precursors
Bromfenac ophthalmic solution should be used with caution in patients with known bleeding tendencies or who are receiving other medications which may prolong bleeding time. Patients with evidence of corneal epithelial breakdown should immediately discontinue use of topical NSAIDs and should be closely monitored for corneal health. Lactation: Excretion in milk unknown; use with caution
